Darby House in October.

One of the highlights of each October is our time at the Schmidt's Darby House in the Bitterroot Valley, Montana. In time to enjoy the fall colors and the Hamilton Apple Fest, the Schmidt's, Hall's, and Heggen's gather at a most pleasant retreat to relax, unwind and rejuvenate.

And this past October was no exception. What gorgeous weather to just hang out on the deck.

Sadie is a newcomer to the deck

But she has Scooby to teach her the ways

Cooking is a magical time

and the efforts are rewarded

Cannot have a Darby weekend without a hike in one of the many canyons found in the Bitterroot Valley

followed by more relaxing, this time out of the wind

But the wind did provide some entertainment

I predict a new member to our family by this time next year

And the drive home through the upper Big Lost and up and over Trail Creek Summit towards Sun Valley was no less breath taking

Thank you Steve and Sue for sharing your Darby House with us!

Ski-cation in Sun Valley with Friends

Pre Season skiing on Baldy at Sun Valley. 8 inches of fresh powder overnight gave us some excellent conditions for our first time out this year.
Taking the Gondola up is always a treat.

Rhonda and her friend Lee getting excited to hit the slopes.

Not too sure what I'm getting myself into

The weather was gorgeous both days. It quit snowing early on Saturday and Sunday was the bomb.

Rhonda, Lee, and Larry, waiting yet again for me to catch up.

Rhonda and I above Warm Springs, looking forward to a break. My legs are burning!
