Two trains, a plane and a bus. That’s what it took to get from La Spezia back to Prague. Funny, but once we landed in Prague we felt like home. The language was more familiar, although I understand only a couple more words of Czech than I do Italian. However, we navigated the airport like we lived here, made it to the AE bus stop just as if it arrived, walked directly to the hotel and were welcomed like Norm at Cheers. But it was a long day and most places were already closed for dinner, save the “Subway” in the train station.
The next morning started out leisurely with a Czech breakfast of coffee and hot chocolate, fruit, bread, egg for me and yogurt for Rhonda. Then we donned our rain coats and wandered Prague. Found a fancy coffee shop for a cappuccino before exploring the chocolate museum. The main square, Vaclavske Nameste, or Wenceslaus of Christmas carol fame, is completely torn up and being renovated with hand placed pavers, to be a pedestrian zone with a single tram. Will need to return in a few years to see the completed project. Life is like a box of chocolates.
