Day Off

This morning we said goodbye to Laura.  It was entertaining and informative to sit and listen to the Felts sisters recall their childhood antics. Laura rode off to Burlington to catch a plane and there was something about an activity she called work she had to attend to.

Rhonda and I leisurely sat around camp, charging all our devices and I replaced front brake pads on my bike. Then we rode towards Addison to the West Addison General Store and ordered a pizza which we ate on site at the old long oak table. I love these old stores with creaky oak floors where you can get a pizza, some forgotten camp tool or a single 1/4” X 1 1/2” fine thread bolt and everything in between.
On our return we stopped at the Strong Manion, built in or around 1796.

Back in camp we made our final reservations for the trip. Only 12 more days on the road. With mixed emotions we bought airline tickets from Banger, Maine to SeaTac where our car waits nearby. We fly west on Sept 9th. We plan to be near Bar Harbor on the 6th. We should have reserved camp sites in Acadia a week ago when I saw they had some post Labor Day sites available. Now we are in a KOA nearby. Arrangements have been made to have the local bike shop package and ship our bikes home. It all seems so final.

However, we still have three new states to explore. We have some warm shower hosts to meet, an Airbnb booked, some motels and some campgrounds to explore. We have a few hard climbs through some “gaps” to get over, some food and drink to sample. We will make the most of these last two weeks. I’m still trying to figure out what a “grinder” is on the food menus. I’ll let you know. https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=188NuHF9PohDjJaY4GG2qT_SnlijG2mVXhttps://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1GVFfhejBw8p_QT0S81QeyC7fZwXipn6A
